The Canoeing Ireland Level 2 Kayak Skills award aims to enable participants to kayak safely and competently on flat water, Grade 1 rivers and very sheltered coastal areas as a member of a peer group. This course introduces paddlers to new strokes, rescue techniques and trip planning skills.

What is provided
We will provide a kayak, paddle, wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and waterproof jacket to all course participants. You just need to bring your swimwear, towel and spare footwear.
Course Duration
The course takes place over two full days, generally at weekends or alternatively 5 x 2 hour evening sessions during the summer months.
What Gets Covered?
Over the course of the Level 2 skills award, paddlers will learn a number of new skills and techniques covering areas such as strokes, rescue, trip planning and safety. Upon completion of the course, paddlers will have achieved the Canoeing Ireland Level 2 Skills Award.
